One thing I know about when it comes to business is, there will be pivots happening all the time. When I think about pivoting I think about Ross from Friends. If you don’t know what I am talking about just watch this clip from the Friends show. As a small business owner, most of us think the brilliant ideas we have are going to change the world and its perfect exactly how we designed. There is some truth in that, but most times life happens and you must adjust.
In the last, couple of months my life has changed in so many ways that I never really saw coming. I would pray for things like most people do, but to see thing materialize was mind blowing. Now, I truly understand what they mean by watch what you pray for. Now, when I pray I make sure to note that God prepares me for those blessings.
Since, last year I have been wanting to launch video content under Kick Start Your eCommerce. The video content for the video was shot in late December but the videographer had issues and was not able to deliver a product that met my standards. This truly made me upset because I was on social media boasting about this amazing product and others that would surely follow. Now come to April and I am having traction with producing the video content for small business owners, items such as Flat lat styling for Instagram, Launching on Mailchimp, & Building Your Own Website on WordPress. I have come to learn its best to truly keep things quiet until you know the project is 99.9% done. There was another project I thought that would’ve been launched by now, but trademark stuff was not my friend. This past Sunday, I received great news about it. We will be moving that from the back burner to the front burner starting mid May.
One of the things I am most adjusting to, is transitioning my companies and merging them as one. My goal has always been to help a million women through entrepreneurship by providing free to low cost tools and resources. That is how ICB Consults came into the picture three years ago. The digital products were the tools that helped women and men across the world. What does this actually mean for you and my future entrepreneur buddies? That I will have one site and one source for you. The ICB Consults social media pages + newsletter will disappear. All content will be under Imperfect Concepts platform. You can look for those changes later in May or early June. Combining the two platforms will help me keep my focus and not feel as if I am missing out on connecting with my audience.
In addition to that, I am the process of looking for a home. Yes, I finally plan on buying my first home. The goal with the home is to move my mom in with me and much more. Looking at homes and finding the one that makes my heart swoon is so important. Yes, lots of research has already taken place regarding this. I know in there is a next stage of my business that will unfold before this year ends. We all must learn the different pivots that happen in life and be able to adjust to those changes.
