Hi there, I am Tasha McCoy
A self-taught business consultant who started her first business at 24 years old. My first online venture was Imperfect Concepts, and it was a high-end resale boutique based in Arlington, Texas. For six months, I focused on learning the ins and out’s of business from reading books at Borders on website design, product packaging, branding, legal aspects, and much more. However, one thing I realized at the time was the information was solely focused on brick and mortar concepts. We were at the start of the recession in 2009 for the Obama era. I had to be quick on my feet decided to learn on the fly.
I started googling different eCommerce platforms for six months before launch and settled on Bigcartel as my shop option. I built my business owner night, but truth be told, looking back, it was terrible. However, I am super glad I did what I need. During my first year, I started building my brand locally and hanging out with bloggers. I would sponsor Twitter Tuesdays at local places in Deep Ellum or blogger events. This helped me network even more. I was then following engaging bloggers all over the US. Long before how blogs are now, I reached out via email asking if they would feature me on their site.
Every person I chose was clothes that I carried in my store, which helped me grow my client. After almost two years of being a shop owner, I add this blog to help other business owners. I was creating a space to share what I was learning and help others on their journey. Little did I know I was becoming an expert people would seek out. One summer, Indiana of the Texas Style Council reached out to me about speaking at her conference, and which I did. I think no one would show up. That day, seventy-five women showed up, and I promised them I would email them all my ebook on Kick Start Your eCommerce. Being your boss was becoming the thing to do, and I was leading the charge.
Fast forward a couple of years, and I have created over 35 digital products, made six figures in a year with passive income, and helping others launch their small businesses. Currently focused on serving others through my services and launching Kick Start, Your eCommerce community. KSYE community is focused on assisting others in establishing their business where they are at and excelling—in addition to that, working on building a tech company. As an entrepreneur for over a decade, I have pivoted throughout various industries, always deep diving and learning more about my craft.
