10 Tools & Resources You Need For Business

Being a solopreneur is a tremendous amount of work. All of that work then accumulates a mountain of stress on your business, if you don’t know how to manage your time effectively. One of the best things I did in the beginning was use online tools and resources, that in turn, streamlined my business and made it easier to run.

CoSchedule

An online tool that focuses on managing your editorial calendar and social media platforms all in one spot. They started out with a base of $10 a month, but since then, have upgraded their various packages for small business owners. They offer a free 14-day trial to test out their platform.

The basic plan starts at $9 a month. It includes:

  • WordPress Plugin
  • Team Workflow
  • Social Sharing Analytics
  • Bitly Link Shortening
  • 5 User & 10 Social Media Profiles

Go Daddy Bookkeeping

People are always asking me what I use to manage my business finances. I have been using this company since they were known as, Outright. I really love the simplicity of seeing everything in one spot. You can see your invoices, expenses, income, and more all in one area. In addition, they have tax stuff set up for you too. I have written about them a couple of times, in regards to, a good bookkeeping system.

TailorBrands

Are you wanting a logo, but not looking to spend a lot of money? Meet Tailorbrands. They help you design a logo on a drop of the dime for less than $50. I tested it out last month and thought it was pretty cool. It got the job done that I was trying to achieve.

Manage WP

Last week, WordPress websites were basically under attack because several plugins were hacked and causing issues. This caused people to be in a panic about backing up their websites. I was introduced to this platform almost two years ago. It automatically backs up my website every night.

Mailchimp

When I first started email marketing, I was using Madmimi for my business and they were amazing. It’s a great place to start, however, as my company started growing and my needs for a “WOW” type of email marketing platform arose, I switched over to Mailchimp. Their free option is great, but if you really want all the bells and whistles I highly suggest upgrading to the paid option.

Almost, all of the big names in business and marketing that I know of use Webinar Jam to host their events. They just re-launched their platform with even more bells and whistles.

Padgram & Primary

Kevin and the crew at Facebook, which owns Instagram, have not created an option to toggle between several accounts. Yet, several other companies have. These two options are great for iOS and Android users; they help manage Instagram accounts and more.

FileZilla

Is a free online FTP solution for the small business owner and their clients. These are just some of its features:

  • Supports FTP, FTP over SSL/TLS (FTPS) and SSH File Transfer Protocol (SFTP)
  • Cross-platform: Runs on Windows, Linux, *BSD, Mac OS X, and more
  • IPhone version 6 support
  • Available in many languages
  • Supports resume and transfer of large files > 4GB
  • Tabbed user interface
  • Powerful Site Manager and transfer queue
  • Bookmarks

Twitter

Don’t underestimate the power of Twitter and what it can do for your business. On my accounts, I follow several big companies who focus on helping small businesses. This is how I find out about tools, resources, and events. I highly suggest searching for companies like Dell, Google, and IBM they all have accounts that talk about being a business owner. Create some list so you never miss a tweet.

Google Drive

Is my company’s storage hub. I freaking love being able to upload all my companies documents, projects, and images to one place, that I can also, open up in my iPhone, Mac, or iPad. In addition, when I need to send my team something I can easily share it with them.

These are all amazing tools and resources for business owners, who need more man power, but are not at the point to where they can hire a part-time or full-time staff member(s). I am all about streamlining and making my business life easier.
