My consulting website has gone through two website designs thus far. First, launching on Wix.com and then switching over to Squarepace. In the next couple weeks I will be launching a new website built off of a theme from TemplateMonster.com for a WordPress platform.
Personally, I’m switching to WordPress because I want more ownership over the site. Don’t get me wrong I LOVE Squarespace, it is one of the few third party shopping carts I really like for small business owners who are starting out. Their founder was named Inc’s 35 under 35. Cool, right. In order to accomplish ownership and more creative layout designs, which are extremely important to the growth of the IC brand, I have to transition from Squarespace to WordPress. I can do this by utilizing WordPress x Host Gator (use coupon code imperfectconcepts for 25% off save on your order).
Some of the templates I am sharing are options for my consulting firm, and others are options for my consulting clients who are launching sites in the next few weeks. I love that there is a wide variety of options for various platforms. Templates can range from $75 or more, which is a really great deal for the small business owner. When searching for a template, don’t get discouraged by the theme it has as it is label for a certain type of “product or service” you can change that to accommodate your business. It’s all about imagining what you want there.

I am currently narrowing my consulting template options down. My team and I are very strategic when it comes to launching new products, services or anything that aligns with the brand. It all has to work together. I googled “consulting themes for WordPress” and stumbled upon Template Monster. Can you say winning!! When I found out about it, I immediately sent Carrie, my brand manager, an email with all the themes. She fell in love with the site too. Finding a template you really love makes it easier for the website developer to install it.
