Truth be told a plethora small business owners have a smaller budget when it comes to advertising, marketing, products, production, and much more. However, this season I want you to collaborate with other small business owners, influencers, creatives, and more this holiday season to have a great impact. When you’re united with others you’re a stronger force to build your dreams and go further.

Connecting Local
If you live a city of more than 50,000 population, I am betting there are other business owners just like you wanting to get their business ahead. Even if you live in a small town, there is a big one that is near. So many times we forget the resources we have within our own reach when it comes to making our dreams turn into reality. For a moment I want you to sit down and think about everyone that is a friend who supports your business in your local city. It might be three people or a good twenty. This holiday season I want you to call upon them to help you. Have friends model in your holiday campaign.
For example, say your collaboration team looks like this;
- stylist
- t-shirt store owner
- jewelry boutique
- influencer
- photographer
- graphic designer
Each one of the people on this list benefits from each other being a part of the shoot from not only fostering relationships but receiving the product (imagery) to use for social media, video content, newsletters, website, first or next purchase cards and much more.
Online Friends
Right now, combining all my social media platforms I have well over 10K worth of followers and friends I communicate on the regular. We cultivate these relationships not just have these large numbers behind us, but to use to connect with each other. Why not put out a call to action that you are wanting to collaborate with others in your niche and other industries. Remember, taking a bold action in your life help you move the needle forward versus just sitting around waiting for others to pick you. It’s time you pick yourself and picking others you want to take up the ladder.
Create Tangible Goals
No matter if you’re working with others locally or find individuals online to collaborate with it is imperative to have goals set up to ensure that everyone gets what they need out of collaborating together. First decide what you want to achieve by collaborating with others this holiday season and beyond. Are you wanting to grow your reach on social media by 15% and for you to do that you know that you need to have better visual content? What about you wanting to build a name in your local community and leverage the one percent of the population to scale your company? Take the time to really think about your goals for the holiday season and how they can be meet by working with others.
Plan It Out
We are a couple weeks out before Thanksgiving hits, and the biggest weekend of holiday season kicks off. If you sat down tonight to plan product shots, call to action banners, who you wanted to collaborate with it, and more its possible if everyone was super driven to have it done before black friday, but it takes planning. In the last month, or so I have become addicted to Trello to plan out my life from moving to new projects. I am still utilizing my Louis Vuitton Agenda, but Trello is one of the only digital planning products I actually like from being able to make various boards, cards and list to organize everything. You could create a “Holiday Collaboration Board” invite the individuals you plan on working with and let the fun really being. Having various cards for the different stages of the process.
If you want more insight on holiday season last year, I wrote several post on the topic (click here, here, here, & here) to read the post. When I had this blog post in mind, I thought of my lovely community of past and current clients who work together often to win. They are constantly sharing each other post, attending events, sharing ideas, going to brunch and more. Your community matters in real life and online. This holiday season I hope you collaborate with some amazing influencers, bloggers, business owners, creatives and more to reach y’all target audience.
