Almost everyday, we are asked what we are currently reading or what our past favorite books have been. We have really long lists if you ask anyone on staff. All of us are avid readers with an addiction to learning.
We have several Pinterest boards dedicated to books that you can check out (2012, 2013, entrepreneur, Great Books) we recently created our 2014 Reading List pin board full of books for you to read too. Here are the top ones for the new year and an explanation for why they are on our list.
Break Out! by Joel Osteen. Became an avid reader of his books since reading, Every Day Friday. His books are faith based, but we believe that the principles are universal. Find great motivation for your personal and business life.
David and Goliaths by Malcolm Gladwell. He is the author who wrote groundbreaking books like, The Tipping Point, The Outliners and more. Saw that this new book was scheduled for release a couple months back and was super excited to read it. We come from more of his school of thinking versus Seth Godin’s. Both are brilliant, but we prefer Gladwell.
The 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene. I actually pinned this to our 2013 reading list and did not get to reading it. It is the third book on the list this year. I have heard of some of the principals Robert shares in his books, so we are going into this with an open mind to see what can actually be learned from his unconventional ways.
The Luxury Alchemist by Ketty Pucci-Sisti Maisonrouge was referred to us by Jessica of Detroit Style Review. We are both avid readers. She just launched a virtual book club in Detroit that you can sign up for now.
Nice Girls Don’t Get the Corner Office by Lois P. Frankel. I’m not personally climbing the corporate ladder, but I feel this will have great tips for business in general. You might remember us reviewing her other book Nice Girls Don’t Get Rich. That book really helped us focus on getting our finances in order.
Jesus, Life Coach by Laurie Beth Jones. Saw this book last year when we went on a Barnes and Nobles shopping trip. Thought it would be a great help with our consulting business. I’m excited to crack it open and learn something to help our businesses.
WIKIBRANDS by Sean Moffitt. I found this book in Dollar Tree. They have great selections of books for you to check out. Ours has a ton of books on business and autobiographies. The best part is that they are $1! So, if your budget is tight, don’t forget to check them out.
This is a pretty great list of books to start the year off with. We will be pinning our books as we read them. Make sure you follow Our 2014 Reading List board to keep track of what we are reading this year.
Are you planning on reading any of these books? If so, which ones are on your reading list for this year? Are you a part of a book club?
