What’s your biggest accomplishment?

Launching my blog www.hustleandheels.com to represent everything that my mother taught me growing up and what she continues to teach me today. I know everyone did not have that in their childhood. I created Hustle & Heels because I meet lots of women who are passionate about their businesses, but who can feel isolated, confused, & lost. Hustle & Heels is a way of bringing women in business together, to share our business passions and to support, encourage and learn from each other. Society needs more of that.

What are three books you would recommend to our readers?

Platform: Get Noticed in a Noisy World by  Michael Hyatt

If You Want to Cry, Go Outside by  Kelly Cutrone

15 Laws of Invaluable Growth by John C. Maxwell

What’s the biggest lesson you have learned since launching?  The small steps pay off. Even if things don’t happen all at once, never stop taking the necessary steps.

What’s your advice to someone interested in starting his or her own business? Read forums, blogs, and research to learn from the mistakes of other business owners.  Stay updated with trends in small business. Read and attend conferences more often. Connect with other business owners offline.

Where do you receive inspiration? I find inspiration in books, quotes, people, but mostly in myself. The best motivation is INTERNAL, and after you realize this you can conquer all.

If you could have one famous entrepreneur as your mentor who would it be?  Kelly Cutrone.

Do you feel your life is balanced between work life and your personal life?  No, but I am working towards that with scheduling and time blocks.
