Instagram is one of the fastest-growing platforms for small business owners. We all know the importance of being seen on a platform by our target audience. A very long time ago, I was not for million spammy-like hashtags. However, I am all here for utilizing the right hashtags that can maximize your companies exposure. This is one of four other things I have done to grow my small business Instagram profile. First, I tried doing a loop giveaway, creating a visual timeline, and finally making my company bio more appealing.
Today, I have curated a list of 101 hashtags for the creative entrepreneur and small business owner. First, let me share some tips regarding using hashtags on your post;
- You can only use 30 hashtags per post.
- Place your hashtags in the first comment section of your post.
- If you want to hide the hashtags, put five dots on top of them stacked.
- Curate different groups of hashtags for a various style posts.
- Utilize local hashtags
Local Hashtags
One thing, I was not doing when I first started using hashtags was use local hashtags. If you’re trying to gain exposure in your local city or state, these are the hashtags you want to use. One of the great options regarding hashtags on Instagram, is they provide you more options when you are searching in the tag area. You can see similar hashtags at the top of the search area when looking at another hashtag. Here are some examples of local hashtags; #IGAustin, #IGATX, #ATX, #Austin, #buyaustin #ATXLife or #KeepAustinWeird. Start your research with your local cities name. You will also find suggestions as #AustinHairstylist #AustinBoutique and things of that nature.
African American Hashtags
In the last couple of months, the African American community has begun to support each other even more with their businesses, ideas, and goals. These curated hashtags have lead to financial support for small businesses, also too, creating a community around each other. Here are a couple of hashtags to search.
Creative Business Owners
OMG, there is so many creative business owners hashtags for women no matter the industry you’re small business operates in. Just check out this list below. They are not in any particular order.
One thing I will say is, do not add hashtags for the sake of it. Curate the right list of hashtags to make sure you maximize your companies awareness for when people are searching those hashtags. By no means is this a complete list of hashtags for small business owners. I suggest your research using the platform or searching on Pinterest too.
