A couple weeks ago, I told you that Brittanie and I were working on a new feature for the site. Now, I am happy to introduce our new series: Main Street. The idea came after watching and hearing commercials consistently talk about how any small town in America could win a main street makeover. You know ICB is all about small towns and shopping small, so I believe a start on that front would be to highlight the awesome small towns over Texas.
We are starting with my hometown, Killeen. I grew up in Miami and Killeen, but I am a proud graduate of C. E Ellison High School, and I have so many memories in this town. It is were I currently reside when I am not traveling around the US. Most people assume I live in a major city, but I don’t. I plan on eventually moving, but right now, Killeen has my heart.
Main streets have so much history. I remember Killeen being beautiful, but now the town is undergoing renovations. I can’t wait to see what it looks like when it’s done.
This happens to be one of my favorite photo’s that Brittanie shot:

Killeen is a gorgeous city, and I am excited to see what it looks like in a year when all the construction is finished. There are so many cool things that used to be here, and I always joke that if I won a million dollars, I would jazz up downtown, which is still something on my bucket list. I want to give the city something back.
What do you think of Killeen and our new feature? I can’t wait to share next week’s main street with you!
