Home Decor On An Entrepreneur Budget

Pinterest has inspired numerous wardrobes, haircuts, weddings, and home decor. I totally get wanting to have a home that looks just like the ones off of Pinterest. We all know that isn’t very realistic, but fret not, you can still have everything you want and more on an entrepreneur budget. It is all about working smarter not harder when it comes to sourcing your decor.

Thrift Store

Vintage and Thrift stores are a gold mine for antiques and more. Go into them with an open mindset not an actual list of what you want. It is a rarity that you will walk into the store and find exactly what you want. Make sure you are aware of their sales days and more. There are some stores that do 50% off on a particular day for a certain color. In addition, these stores do mark downs after an item has been on the floor for a certain amount days.

Estate and Garage Sales

Recently, a guy friend of mines mentioned how he had found an old school version of the Risk board game with wood pieces for a dollar. The envy that came across my face was serious. I remember playing this game every Friday night with my family as a kid. The best things about garage sales are that you really are finding things for below their market value. You can source estate or garage sales online. A plethora of communities post them in their local newspaper. If you are looking for higher end stuff, I highly suggest going to neighborhoods that have a higher disposable income level.

Craigslist

Is a jewel when it comes to sourcing extra cash for your business. This is a perfect  way to find your home decor too. Using the right phrase when searching is huge. Be very descriptive when searching for particular pieces on there. A great thing about Craigslist and Garage Sales are that you can negotiate the pricing that works best for your budget.

Smart Shopping

Hobby Lobby is a great place to not just to get craft supplies or sewing material, but they also have a vast variety of home decor. Last week they had 50% off all quote photos, candles, and pillows. It has become one of my favorite places to get amazing pillows with cover and all for less than $10 a piece. A majority of stores now have coupons specifically for their store to help you save. Make sure you subscribe to newsletters and download apps that can save you extra money.

Are you planning to redo your home decor this season? How can you use these decor tips on an entrepreneur budget to enhance your home?
