“The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.” ― Dr. Seuss
I have been an avid reader since I was a kid, and I’m still very fond of the public library. Reading books has helped me over these three year’s that I’ve owned a business. In the process I have built a size-able library of my own, which is still as much of an escape as it used to be. My early twenties were dedicated to E. Lynn Harris, Sophie Kinsella, Donna Hill & Laura Weisberger books. The only difference now is that I read more business, networking, time management, autobiographies and start up books. (I still mix a little fiction in here and there).
My goal for 2013 is to read a new book every week. I am pretty good at finishing a book within 2 days of starting it. This year I want to pace myself and truly digest what I am reading. I will be starting the year with “Maximize the Moment: God’s Action Plan For Your Life” by T.D. Jakes. Below is my list of books Ill be reading this year and I will be adding more to my pinterest page throughout the year.
This is a small portion of my 2013 reading list, and I know it will grow with several of my favorite twitter and instagram followers that share their new reads. Several books about Silicon Valley are coming out this spring, so they will be on my list too. I hope this list inspires you to start reading more, and if you’re already into reading, I hope this list gives you new authors to check out.
What are you reading in 2013? Who are your favorite authors?
P.S. Oh The Place You’ll Go by Dr. Seuss is one of my favorite inspirational books. They read it at my sister graduation from UT.
